Modular homes are considered the same as site-built homes because they are constructed to meet state and, in some cases, local building codes. Insulation, roof snow loads, plumbing, electrical and structural components are all configured to meet the code applicable to the location of placement. Each member of the Fecteau family lives in a modular home and can attest to the quality and energy efficiency. We are biased of course, but we consider them equivalent, or better, than a home constructed in place. After all, can you take just any home down the interstate or pick it up with two cables and not have it fall apart?
Other benefits include construction completion within 8-12 weeks in most cases from the date of order and the fact that all construction is done indoors, in a controlled environment and quality assurance inspections are performed throughout the construction process. If you don’t find a plan that suits your needs, don’t worry. Most plans are customizable and if you have a specific layout in mind, draw it on a napkin and bring it by!
